6 year old suddenly really upset at bedtime

Our 6 year old is pretty good at bedtime on the whole, I thought we were through any issues (we've had a lot of sleep issues in the past!)

Just in the past week, she is suddenly really upset and panicky at bedtime, not wanting to be left and wanting us to stay with her

It seems to be genuine altho we're not 100% sure as she can turn on the tears when she wants to

Ive talked to her of course but there are no obvious anxieties or fears

Tried just leaving her but she gets hysterical, or if she wakes up and realised we've snuck off she'll come downstairs all upset

Not sure how to handle this tbh. But with everything going on, I'm missing having a break from the kids in the evening...currently writing this with her snuggling up next to me, not going to sleep!!

Hi op, try changing your routine a little, see if it distracts her?

Have you tried leaving her with some gentle music or a guided meditation playing that's aimed at children? This worked some nights for our DD who sounds quite similar.

Holshicup. Did that just tonight and it's worked a treat!
