Potty training - getting desperate!!!

DD ditched the nappies at exactly 2.5 yrs - 9 months ago... she got poos on the potty straight away, and has always been happy to wee there. She moved herself to the loo which was also great. HOWEVER... we still have accidents most days!!! She just won’t acknowledge needing a wee, even though she’s doing the dance or sitting on her heels to hold it in! We have tried all the rewards you can thing of, the latest includes a consequence (very much NOT a punishment) for just not even trying to go. This one seemed to be working but yesterday and today have just been awful with loads of accidents again! Any tips out there?

Have you tried getting her to help clean up? We haven't had loads of accidents so not sure if it would work but if DD has a wee accident she has to help get the wipes and the carpet/floor cleaner, wait while I clean up, take her wet things to the washing machine, go upstairs to get new clothes, can't play with anything till I say so. I basically make the whole thing as deathly dull and lengthy as possible that going to the loo seems like a much better option.

She does all that, helping actually clean is too much of a novelty for her, but she has to get dressed herself and take wet clothes to the washing machine. It doesn't seem to bother her though! She just goes and does it, but it's been going on for so long it's just normal to her now...

The threat of going back to pull ups seemed to work on mine, but I know some kids that won’t work. I’d just say, calmly, if you’re going to have lots of accidents and not even try then you’re not ready yet and you need to wear nappies again like a baby. They hated that.
