Self sterilising baby bottles.

I'm expecting my second child and hoping to breastfeed however, if it doesn't work out I will obviously be bottle feeding. I am looking around for baby bottles. For my first I used Tomee Tipee. But now theres these MAM self sterilising bottles and I would love to know if anyone has used them and if they're good to use?

They are if you don’t have any clean but I still use my steriliser and do them in bulk.

They’re a bit of a pain to clean cause they have lots of different parts but the self sterilising is a nice feature. I had some issues with them leaking though.

I found they cleaned well in the dishwasher but for sterilising they were much easier to do in bulk. The teat is a good shape and liked by many babies.

I found them really handy for breastfeeding because I wasn't using them that often so it was easier than having to have a big sterilisier. That said there's a bit of a trick to sealing them, you have to make sure to push the silicone ring firmly into the bottom part before screwing them together or they can leak out of the bottom joint - very frustrating if it's expressed milk! However if they do start leaking then you can turn them upside down so long as the lid is on and sort out the bottom joint so it's tight.

They’re great if you’re combi feeding as you don’t need to get a separate steriliser. Never had any issues with leaking but I always make sure the bottom ring is firmly in. I would use them again if I was having another.

I've been using them and can recommend. I don't have a big kitchen and really didn't want another appliance sitting on the counter. I've only ever used them so have nothing to compare to but no complaints from me

They're fab, my DS is 8 months old and we've been using them since birth. We don't own a steriliser and have always sterilised them in the microwave. It's so quick and easy and nice not to have a huge steriliser sat on the side.

I think it depends on baby. Mine took to Avent and Tommee Tippee - really wanted them to like Mam but they didn't. They've worked well for some people. Also the tommee tippee worked with one of my pumps.

Thanks for all the advice it has helped me to decide what i'd do depending on the circumstances.

Ive only ever used Mam bottles, they really dont take that long to wash and i love that i can zap them straight in the microwave and then they are ready.
Never had any leakage issues.
I use them with the perfect prep machine to make life even easier!

Love them, no issues with them after using for 2 kids, and great when going to someone’s house/ away for a weekend as long as there is a microwave as you can quickly sterilise them.
