I can't wait to move Dd2 into her brothers room from ours, but he snores like a trooper and often wakes at 2-3am for a little singsong (though settles himself), DD2 (12 weeks) is a sensitive soul and the slightest noise has her flailing her arms and nearly waking (which is why i want her out of our room as we can't make a sound). She has slept through a couple of nights now and i'm afraid her brother would just wake her up--should i give it a go?
Also, how do others juggle the toddler bedtime routine with a baby's? I have DS1 watching video downstairs while i cuddle her to sleep in dark room upstairs, or he romps round the room with me going "shh shh" (he's very good but his attempts at being quiet either make me giggle--or want to shout e.g. just as she's shut her eyes...)

Hi moongirl - just seen your message. If DD2 is sleeping through ok then I would put her in and give it a go... the sooner she gets used to his night-time noises the better Also, you are still programmed for broken nights, so it won't be such a shock to you if he/she wakes.

Our dd1 had ds in with her at that kind of age, and they occasionally stirred when one or other woke up, but it was never a problem. Even if one woke the other, while I was in sorting it out, the snoozier one would drop off again quickly.

We stayed with friends when dd1 was nearly 3 and ds was one, and dd1 couldn't sleep cos she was in a bed in spare room and she "couldn't hear ds". So we moved his travel cot to the foot of her bed and she went straight to sleep. Bless!

They still share a room (nearly 6 & 4), and dd2 is in with us at 6.5 months... I'm reluctant to put her in with them as I'm still feeding occasionally in the night and too lazy to go and get her!
