My 2week old only drinks 1oz of formula but more of breast milk when I express it

Is this normal for my 2week old to only drink 1oz of formula ?

He always falls asleep so sometimes while he's drinking the formula he drops asleep and only finishes 1 oz but today I tried keeping him away by taking his clothes off and he's drank more

So you're also breastfeeding? Maybe he just prefers that.

The phrasing of that, 'when I express it,' suggested to me that she doesn't do it often. Generally, if you're solely expressing you've got to do it often, so if you've still got milk but aren't expressing often, that suggests to me that breastfeeding is still occurring. Not always the case, granted, but that's why I used a ? at the end.

Babies that young often struggle to stay awake for feeding, so he may just need to feed little and often. Is he gaining weight and having plenty of wet nappies? If so you don’t need to worry, he’s taking on enough.
