Breastfeeding problems/oversupply? Please help

Hi, I hoping someone can help me! I'm a first time mom, with a 7 week little girl. Around 3 weeks ago I felt my milk supply had dipped so started taking fenugreek supplement to help increase my supply. I believe this has worked, however when I'm feeding (mainly around 5/6pm) my nipples squirt out vigorously and my poor baby chokes and ends up very frustrated. I've read about oversupply, however, my boobs never leak (never had to use pads)the opposite breast doesn't leak when feeding it just sprays out like a hose...is this active letdown? It goes on for 15/20 mins, in fact I expressed before her feed to try and elliviate some of the fast let down and it took me 15 mins of pumping till it gradually stopped, by which time I'd pumped 80mls. Is this oversupply/active letdown...any tips how to stop this.

I've tried laying down but she hates feeding this way...should I try block feeding ? Any help would be much appreciated 😖

I had this with my first. I found after a few weeks it wasn’t a problem - DD learned to cope with it better ( probably not what you want to hear, but she’d clamp with her gums to slow the flow while she swallowed!) and I think my supply adjusted to be creamier milk but less volume. While you wait for your baby/body to adjust, I’d recommend hand expressing just before a feed - if you use a pump you’re just training your body to produce lots of milk at that time.

One of my boobs does this but not for quite as long as you mention. I have a squirty boob for around 5 mins if it's really full. It used to choke my baby but she is now able to cope with it. It was a bit of a shock at first but you get used to it. I think some boobs are just squirters 😂
