Does anyone have one? Is it worth the money? I'm wanting to get one and can afford it but I'm a bit put off by the additional cost of the accessories. I really like the fact that my son will be able to sit at the dining table with us and it will last a fairly long time - he can use it well in to his childhood to sit and eat at the table.

I don't know of it's more sensible to go for a cheaper option but I won't be able to use it as long and will become redundant once my son was a certain size but he would still be too small for the dining chairs. We eat all our meals at the dining table.

We had one, got rid of it last year and my kids and 3 and 5 so in our case it wasn’t useful for the years and years that I’d anticipated. It’s a bit awkward to thoroughly clean and the design of it means it takes up quite a bit of space/can be a trip hazard! They’re pretty and I liked it while we had it but the paint chipped easily and the £15 IKEA one can go in the dishwasher 🤷🏻‍♀️ (Still a big footprint on that one though!). My kids sat at the table in normal chairs from about age 2 so no need for a long term extra chair in my experience. They’re so pretty though so if we have another kid I might buy one again, it’s nice to have nice things :)

DD used hers until she was 8 or 9; we bought it second hand and still managed to sell it on, so it didn't cost that much in the end!

Having her at the dining table wasn't just a bonus for meals; ours is in the kitchen so she could sit up and play with toys while I was cooking.

My 6ft tall 16 year old still insists on sitting on his. It's been worth the money, although I was hoping that he'd let his little sister use it so we didn't have to buy a new one for her.

We have the very similar hauck alpha+ and love it so much I just bought a second one second hand off eBay for a fiver. My two year old loves being at the table, instead of seperated by a tray, and the bouncer attachment (bought seperately but also second hand) means our newborn can also be at the table for family meals. I used the tray attachment from weaning to about 18m, then granduated to the table. The adjustable footplate was also really handy for our sons long legs. I can see him being in the chair for a long time as it's the perfect height for our table and means he won't be up to his chin as he would b sitting on or regular dining chair. A definite win from us

Love ours. Did get it second hand when DD was 18 months. She’s 3 now & still extremely useful. She does swap between normal chairs sometimes but always gravitates back to it. Particularly for things like drawing & stickers actually. I think she finds it easier being higher up. I’ll def get another one for my youngest I think!

My daughter was supplied one by the occupational therapist when she was 2, (she has Cerebral Palsy) and used it right up until she was about 14. It was well used but looked as good as new and went on to another family when we gave it back. I think they’re great!

Buy one second hand on a local FB group. I picked one up for around £30 if I recall. I also bought one on eBay for £90. Sold both for £50 each so did ok!

I was lucky to be given one as my step mum had sworn by it when my step sister was young. We had an IKEA highchair before that for a couple months. DS is 14 months so still very much a highchair for us. I like that we can use it at the table- he feels much more part of family meals and a big plus it looks nice. The IKEA highchair didn’t fit close enough to our table. Cleaning can be a faff but I’ve started using a bibado with them and it is much easier. I’ve put the baby set and tray in the dishwasher with no issues. We have the reigns and a cushion but have never really used them. Also we only used the tray for a limited time (3 months) so you don’t really need it if you plan to be at the table. Overall I would get another one if we we have a second baby.

I think it's worth it if you plan to buy one for each child and keep them as your family furniture long term.

If you just want a high chair that can be used at the table, there are cheaper very similar alternatives that don't last as long or come in as many colours, but work just as well.

To be honest my 2yo can eat sitting at a normal chair at the table. He is more comfortable and able to use his arms in a highchair, which is what we normally use, but I've never found it a problem from 3 or so for them to use a normal chair. You can always get a booster seat to strap to a normal chair for the in between stage, which is what I did with DS1. I am expecting again and by the time DC3 needs the highchair, DS2 will be 3.5 so I'm sure perfectly able to use a normal chair.

Some of my friends had one for each child but now their kids are older they think the Stokke chairs are "babyish".

We got lucky with a second hand one for £10 from a charity shop for my DD when she was about 18m, so never used it as a high chair. She used it til about 4 then moved to an IKEA junior chair so one of her twin brothers could have the tripp trapp again aged about 18m. Then a cousin passed down her kids’ one so both twins now have one.
The most useful thing is that they take up to 100kg so adults can sit on them too if needed.
The annoying thing is that they can seat an adult so they are very wide for kids, and my twins (now 3) and their tiny bums just shuffle and fidget constantly on them.
I was quite happy with the IKEA antilops for my 3 for the proper high chair stage and that would certainly save a packet on the accessories. Maybe look secondhand, or buy the chair new and extras secondhand? They’re still fairly pricey...

We've got a Hauck knock-off which is brilliant and so much cheaper.

We had two for our children and used them for years. Roughly until the eldest was 7. Really useful for not only feeding but art/craft etc as they sit under the table really well. We had the baby seat for the second of ours which was useful but by no means ease ti. Perfectly comfortable for an adult size to sit on. We sold ours on for a decent amount too. The only issue we had was if we put them in a smallish space as the legs stick out a long way - I broke my toe in two places on ours!

Been stubbing my toes on ours for the past 16 years and they've survived many furniture culls so I'd say I'm a fan. Just not a fan of the toe stubbing.

I have been using ours as an ergonomic desk chair since March. It had been used every day for 6.5 years so was a great investment for us

We have used them long term (7 years and 4 years so far and no sign of us giving up on them), so worthwhile investment for us. The baby packs have good resale value on eBay etc

We love ours. Dcs are 8 and 5 and still use them every day.
I’m pregnant with dc3 and considering getting a 3rd!

All my teens like to sit on ours! Genuinely more comfortable than any regular chair

I got one for £12 on eBay so definitely worth it in our case. Hoping to be as lucky for baby 2. I don't think I would have paid full price though

We had a Tripp trapp and a hauck- equally good. Both used for over a decade - very good for homework at the kitchen table as feet can be flat on the board which helps hand writing (DD's OT told us that).

Yes when my DC sit on other chairs with legs dangling I notice the difference (whether it’s for meals, drawing, homework etc)

Thank you all for your thoughts, seems like most of you got a lot of use out of it. I'm quite happy to buy one secondhand but my DH is being a bit of a snob about it and wants a new one. If we get one I will defo buy my accessories secondhand.

I know the Tripp Trapp holds its value fairly well so I will try and sell it once we are no longer using it. I will also check out Hauack Alpha+ too.
