Where best for day naps for second child?

DC2 due in 3 months. With DC1 we just did all naps on me, either out for a walk or on the sofa. However, with a 22 month old running around I don't think I'll have the luxury of just working my way through Grey's Anatomy. So, I'd love suggestions for where you put your babies for day naps before they'd settle in their cot/crib without you.

I have a sleepyhead, so thought perhaps that in a crib downstairs (safer than on floor or sofa as we have cats and aforementioned toddler)? Or maybe Mokee basket? We do have a few rockers - a Nuna Leaf and a Babybjorn, but I don't like the idea of longer naps in them. I could never get my girl to go down when she was propped up like that. I'm going to get an Ergo Embrace too, for around the house.

My second would only sleep in the sling.

We used the Moses basket until DS outgrew it and then the pram until he started napping in his cot at 6 months. At times he fell asleep in his bouncer chair and we went with that too as reclined back as far as possible.

Sleepyhead and sling work well. The trouble over time is keeping your toddler away!

I’ve got a 3.5 yr old and a 6 month old. So slightly different as older one can be trusted / kept amused more easily than at 22 months. But what we did was....

For first 3 months - naps in stretchy sling. Was a life saver. Baby wouldn’t nap in cot or pram.

Then I got a sturdier sling, and also baby was more transferable to sleepyhead so sometimes did that.

Now he’s 6 months old he has 3 naps a day and does at least 1 nap in his cot.

So today he did morning nap in the sling while eldest rode her bike, lunchtime nap in the pushchair with snoozeshade over and eldest on buggy board (both fab products in my experience and worth the investment! We bought both second hand though) and afternoon nap in his room in his cot. But dd wanted to be with us so she sat with iPad and headphones while I got him to sleep. She knows she has to be verrrry quiet. Then we sneak out.

Hope that helps in some way! Don’t worry you’ll settle into a rhythm

Moses basket, bouncer, sling, any of the beds upstairs depending on which room we're in, my lap. She manages surprisingly well despite a boisterous 2yo running round all day long.

I should say DC2 still napped on me at times, while DC2 was a drowsy newborn it was still possible to read to DC1 and I also took to narrating DC1's play to him so he knew I was paying attention which seemed to work.
