My little girl is 21 weeks and showing signs she is ready, i know they advise to start at 6 months but have you started before?
This is my 2nd DD so you'd think i knew what i was doing this time round but im clueless! Im sure i weaned her at 4 months though....!

I hated weaning Grin Dd was a couple of weeks off 6 months I think.

I started her on breakfast after her morning bf. She had whatever I was having, so toast, eggs, Greek yogurt & fruit etc. I’m exceptionally lazy so did baby led weaning because I had no time for purées etc.

As she started eating more I added in lunch (soup, sandwiches, pasta, noodles, crumpets etc) and then dinners. Again eating what I had - I just never added any salt until I’d taken her portion out.

The advice has been to wean at about 26 weeks for nearly 20 years. It’s because the gut may not be fully developed and weaning before its fully developed could potentially life long health problems. It’s your child and your choice but that is the NHS advice.

The NHS website on weaning is really useful.

What signs of being ready has she got OP?

My DD started displaying signs at 23 weeks, mainly by nicking a sandwich and eating it before we could wrestle if from her Grin
