I know we're not supposed to compare, but my DS is 9.5 months and theres absolutely no sign of any teeth at all. When does it start being a concern? I cant really find much on google and dont really want to bother the HV on such a trivial question

My DS was well over one.

Put is this way, have you ever seen or heard of a human who never got their teeth? It will happen. No need to worry or panic. Smile

Bigoldmachine · 11/01/2021 09:09

My first was 10 months before any appeared, then five came in quick succession.

My second is now 6 months old and a few weeks ago his two bottom teeth popped through. I guess they’re all different? Sorry not very helpful

Please don't worry, all babies are different. My DD has six teeth at 7 months old but my nephew didn't get any until after he was one

DS1 was over 11 months, DS2 was about 8 months.

JustCallMeGriffin · 11/01/2021 09:14

DD1 was around 5 months. DD2 was nearly 18 months!

Whilst DD2 stressed me out beyond belief, her teeth came in perfectly. The only thing we've noticed is that she is losing her baby teeth much later than her friends.

Ticklemynickel · 11/01/2021 09:41

DD1 was 4 months but some of my friend's LOs didn't get any till after 1. They've all got all or nearly all their teeth now at 3yo.

Think of the saving on toothbrushes. Grin

My DD is 8 months, been teething for ages but still no sign of teeth. I was 9 months when I got my first tooth so I’m not surprised. My cousins baby on the other hand is 6 weeks older than my DD and he has 8 teeth already! They’re all different.

Dyra · 11/01/2021 10:01

DD was 10 months old when the first 2 cut through together. You could see them just under the gum for months beforehand though. At 16 months, she's got 7.

I never worried though. My mum loves to tell the story of how I took my first step and cut my first tooth on my first birthday. Apparently I was an incredibly slow teether, which it looks like DD will be too. I was also very slow to lose all my baby teeth. I think I lost my last one when I was 9 or 10.

niceupthedance · 11/01/2021 10:10

14 months

He's 10 now and has only lost 5 baby teeth

DappledThings · 12/01/2021 08:17

13 months and 11 months.

GymSloth · 12/01/2021 08:22

Both mine were over a year. It's actually not a bad thing, as they'll probably get their adult teeth later too. As these are the ones that have to last, it's quite good to get them later, in my opinion!

Crimblecrumble1990 · 12/01/2021 08:40

DS was just over 9 months then 2 came at once, felt like he had been teething for ages before they appeared.

Hollywhiskey · 12/01/2021 09:16

13 months with both. It seem much easier to stop them biting your nipples as they have more understanding.

Seeline · 12/01/2021 09:19

Both mine had teeth by 16 weeks.

boymum9 · 12/01/2021 09:22

Both my ds's were well over 1 before any teeth!

WhenTwoBecomeThree · 12/01/2021 09:25

DD had 2 teeth by 5 months, but my neice only got her first tooth just before she turned one!

It does happen - it’s a condition called hypodontia.

Having said that I’m sure your DC is fine OP. A friend’s baby is only just getting his first teeth and he’s 10.5 months!

LunaNova · 12/01/2021 12:35

My DD is also 9.5 months old and doesn't have any teeth yet! Apparently it can be family linked and prior to her being born my DH said that she might get her teeth late as he did, and I guess he was right!

We get odd times where we think one is coming and then nothing Grin. I think there's one on its way now but it probably still won't appear any time soon haha!

RadGlags · 12/01/2021 12:38

12 months for first tooth, then had 10 teeth by 16 months!

TheHumanSatsuma · 12/01/2021 12:39

I was 14 months, my daughter was 13 1/2 months.
My son about 8 months

KLM19 · 03/02/2021 20:39
