Hi all, I have an almost 15 month old who wakes multiple times in the night. We co-sleep and he is breastfed, a feed at bedtime and as needed overnight.
I have assumed his wakings have been due to a sleep association of being fed to sleep. When he wakes he either wants to be fed or cuddled back to sleep and will lie with his head on my chest/neck and his body on the bed. He will also fall asleep if I pick him up and hold him. I’ve been tolerating his wake ups but as he gets older I’m finding it increasingly frustrating and I am so tired.
I am starting to wonder if he’s waking because he is uncomfortable. I’ve noticed when he’s lying on his back he sometimes is working his mouth, as if he’s chewing, and perhaps he isn’t wanting to be cuddled so much as wanting to be elevated, so maybe this is reflux? He has never been a sicky baby but obviously has always woken at night. I’m also wondering if I should consider cmpa? He doesn’t like milk and refuses to drink it but does have cheese, yogurt and soya as well. I’m unsure what I should try, gavisvon for a bit to see if it helps first? Cut out dairy from both our diets? I’m a bit worried about his calcium intake if I do this (plus I’m vegetarian).
Any advice gratefully received, I desperately need sleep.
