Best bamboo nappy?

What do you think is the best bamboo nappy?

I've just ordered a pack of TotsBots Rainbow Bamboozles with popers - as we have loved the size 1 terry Rainbow Bots.

I've seen that people have had problems with aplix pulling off the nappy and needing to be resewn - do the popers pull off the Bamboozles? Will TotsBots repair them if they do?

I like the slimline of bamboo and want to avoid aplix (as he's getting older, I just know he'll start pulling it off).

Cheers for all your help.

I love bambinex the most, I find them better fastened with a nippa as they are very high in the rise (great for birth to potty), and can be a bit gapey round the legs with other fastenings, nippa means you can yank them up as high as you like.

Tots will fix any issues (not sure if there are popper issues with the bamboo ones, I know there have been with some of the fluffles)

Also, do you have to pre-wash bamboo nappies to 'activate' their absorbancy, as you do with terry cloth?

I like Little Lamb and Babeco bamboo ones best.
DS grew out of the Bamboozles very quickly, they don't seem very stretchy.
The Bambineo were good but a bit gapey on the legs as Flame says (I hate nippas though). I felt the applix wasn't as good quality.
Little Lamb ones were very soft and stretchy, still fitted DS at 3.5, though slightly short on the rise, why oh why don't they make them in size 3's???
The Babeco are bamboo outer with fleece inner, they also have a pocket to stuff which is handy.

I love my Wambamboos!

LilBloodRedWantsGore · 26/10/2007 14:13

They are applix ones - have been using for 12 months and still in fantastic condition.

Yes, you have to wash them lots more than cotton ones. Think it is 10 times for best absorbency, but of course you can use for shorter spells before than.

The little lamb ones are lovely...sooooooo soft but they took forever to dry. I have one I use at nighttime and it is great, but I couldn't use them full time unless I had about 30 to allow for drying time, plus they are a fair bit bulkier than bamboozles.

Flame - How come Bambinex can do nippa bamboo nappies and totsbots can't? Is it something to do with the thickness of pile in the bamboo (my rainbow bamboozle always looked threadbare

Keliza · 26/10/2007 14:35

I am very torn... we really have loved our cotton totsbots - the fit and function is fab for us. But we've been using nippa fastenings and that's not available in the bamboozle.

We also have the Tots bamboo washclothes and I loved the fabric - so thought I'd go to the bamboozle for the size 2 nappies I need to get.

I just don't know if I should stick with Tots for bamboo or try a different brand?...

Grr, decisions, decisions...

Tis a different kind of fabric that doesn't have the felting issues. Quick flips come in nippa too, but are more bulky

FlameInHell · 26/10/2007 14:55

Oooh I forgot about bambeasys (should that be bambeasies??) - they are fleece lined and looooooooovely. Wider across the bum than tots and bambinex, and come in nippa.

curlywurlycremeegg · 26/10/2007 18:31

Tots Bots now have nippa bamboozles back in the wholesale section no idea what is going on!

FlameInHell · 26/10/2007 18:47

Really?!!?!?!

(I got pissed off with them delaying my first order so much I never got anything in the end )

nappyzone · 26/10/2007 19:03

i love bambinex but have just got some bambeasy in this week and the size 0 is soooooo cute i almost got broody. Feels thinner than bambines though but maybe thats coz it was sooooooooooo small.

coby · 26/10/2007 20:13

maybe the bamboozles are wholesale only so someone else takes the flack when they go horribly wrong

CarGirl · 26/10/2007 20:22

I prefer my nippa wambamboos but only because if dh get holds of the velcro one he forgets to fold over the top and nippa them instead argh!!

Anyway I've got 8 VGC size 2 velcro wambamboos to sell

CarGirl · 26/10/2007 20:23

I'm no where near as keen on my tots bots bamboo size 2 nappy it's bulkier yet small.
