Sudden onset of reflux?

DD is 12 weeks. We had some rough periods of being upset at night and some posters suggested it could be reflux. Dr prescribed gaviscon which she just refused (EBF) and it's quite tricky to give her. We then tried her on omeprazole but it made her so windy she was just as distressed by that. She also seemed much happier and calmer some cut the meds.

Over he last 2 days she has refused my right breast. Tonight she is enormously unsettled hysterically crying, and you can hear her gulping even when she isn't feeding. This seems like reflux but it's so sudden? She hadn't actually been sick.

Any advice gratefully received. I'm so stressed.

It could be silent reflux. This is where they arent always sick and the acid burns their throat but stays down. My DC had this and it was horrendous. Omeprazole was the only thing that helped and I would recommend it. Could you have a nother talk with your doctor?

We have Losec capsules that were prescribed last time for silent reflux. I think im going to put her back on them. She often has bubbles between her lips, too.

I guess we will just have to cope with the poo and wind. I really thought she had got so much better but thinking about it she has refused a feed yesterday and the day before.

With reflux it can just build up again so you can be lulled in to a false sense of security then boom its back. When we took ds off he was fine for a weekend then all of a sudden the arching started again. I hope the losec works for you. I sympathise as it’s awful and so distressing to watch baby in pain Flowers

Thanks. Again today she is fine after a massive poo. The Losec made her so windy and she pood so much I'm just worried about having one issue and replacing it with another
