hi all happy new year, Just a small one that your help would be appreciated: our boy is almost 15 months now and everything seems normal. He has started getting frustrated at times for example trying to take apart his duplo or just no particular reason, perhaps tired or hungry.
When that happens he will throw the toy down hard, and if we pick him up or sit close to him he will often try to scratch our faces.
So far we just move out of the way and gently prevent him, and say "no" or "ouch", and try to stay reasonably close, and tell him that it's normal to get frustrated but scratching is not allowed. Then we take him away from the activity and maybe read a book or "chase" him around the kitchen island depending whether we think he is overwhelmed and needs to calm down or just testing us and needs more interaction.
Does anyone have any other suggestion on stopping this in an empathetic way?
He can understand some words and knows not to hurt people but clearly his frustration is taking over.
Thanks everyone in advance!
