Tensing up and groaning

My daughter is a month old and keeps tensing up, straightening her legs and whinging. This usually happens more at night or when I’m trying to settle her. Does anyone know what this can be?

Could be trapped wind. My son suffers quite badly from it.

Try and feed them with them sitting up, keep them sat up after a feed and wind them.

We've also been using Infacol, which helps a little.

Most likely infant dyschezia. It's common in babies when they are still trying to use their muscles properly when pooping. Basically they are straining but not relaxing their pelvic floor when trying to poop. Usually relieved by having a poo, and poo is usually normal (ie not dry and hard like in constipation). They usually grow out of it.

Yes I spoke to health visitor not long ago and she suggested the same as sitting them up etc I do this with every feed and she does plenty of burps. Thank you for advice
