A Guide to Potty Training my Son - HELP!

I’m going to sound like a right tit posting this but I need help on where to start with potty training my 2 year old son Confused
I’m a first time mum and never grew up with younger siblings or family so I have no clue where to start on the potty training front. My son currently is dry when he wakes up in the morning but pees basically the second he’s out of his bed, it’s usually easy to tell when he needs to pee and he has recently started staying completely dry when we’re out in public or in the car on a journey. He stopped pooping outside of our home and his grandparents home around 8-9 months ago, so I feel he’s showing signs of being ready?
However my confusion lies in struggling to tell when he needs to poop. He has no tell tale signs when he poops, he just runs over smelling like poop and I know to change him. He makes no faces, no noise, doesn’t run away, nothing. This is worrying me when it comes to potty training because he cannot tell me or let me know when he needs to go. Does anybody have any tips on what I could do to change this? I’ve tried looking at other threads but I haven’t found much that’ll help and I’m terrified I’m going to be a useless mum and struggle to potty train him in the end Sad

You're overthinking this! Kids will figure it out Wink

I have read different threads in here and most people agree. Just take the diaper and clothes off!! I found that having something between their legs means bathroom is there. So training pants don't work. DD1 actually asked to put on diaper so she could pee Grin

Some people give kids water/juice and salty snacks so they drink even more. I didn't do anything like that.... no need.

I have bought the Prince Lionheart WeePod and have a little chair so they can climb up. Can't be bothered with cleaning a potty Confused so also wasn't running after the kids with a potty... had a couple of accidents but nothing terrible. Do put away the rugs.

Good luck!

I agree you're over thinking.

I'd take him to look at some pants in the supermarket and let him choose some.

One day go for pants and put him on the potty every 20 mins or so. See what happens, if he takes it after a day or so keep going. If he doesn't stop for a bit longer and try again in a month or so.
