How do you deal with your children going to father's half the week?

Scary to actually write it down but I'm contemplating seperating from my husband but I'm terrified of having to hand over my children (under 3) they are just babies and I do mostly everything for them. I've got so many questions in my head and really don't know what to do but that is the thing that pains me the most.

I can't speak from experience but I understand that it is fairly unusual to actually have a 50:50 split. Children need stability and it's not good for them to be constantly shuttling between two homes that are supposed to be equal. 1 main home/main residential parent and visiting the other parent every other weekend and one or two midweek overnights is much more normal. If you currently do everything then how certain is it that your stbx would actually want that much solo time?
