12 month old formula and breast fed

My daughter has a couple of breast feeds at night and formula in the day. Havent thought of it before but are you supposed to switch to cows milk at 1 year old? I’m going to use up the formula I have left and she doesn’t mind a sippy cup so that’s fine.

Infant formula is the only suitable alternative to breast milk in the first 12 months of your baby's life. Whole cows' milk can be given as a main drink from the age of 1.

I started slowly introducing cows milk to my breastfed 1yo and it just took a couple of months before he was happy drinking it. Just transition slowly I’d say.

Formula is better for babies than cows milk. Cows milk is for baby cows!

It doesn’t make any difference- they don’t need formula after 1 but formula is essentially cows milk that’s been faffed with anyway.
Cows milk is less work but if they are eating plenty of dairy they don’t really need much of either. DD had 2-3 BF at that age and cows in food.

Lol I am aware that cows milk is for baby cows but I had it and I’m fine 🤷🏻‍♀️ Soya milk etc is not much better and highly GM, gonna carry on with formula for now and introduce it. Thank you 🙂

Does dc like the taste of cows milk?
My dsis had 2 dc who preferred formula as its sweeter so she started reducing the amount of formula and adding in cows milk bit by bit till eventually it was pure cows milk.

Of course formula is made from cows milk, but it has been treated and stuff added to it for human babies. Op is going to use it up, a good idea imo

Yes you can give full fat cows milk from age 1. Use up the formula too. Do you use cows milk on cereal already?
