DD will turn 4 in 3 weeks, she has an older sister so she’s fine for clothes and we have plenty of toys. What on earth can I get her for her birthday?

I don’t want to get her an experience as who knows when it would be allowed to happen. I was thinking of a wobble board but is she getting too old for it? Does anyone have any great ideas they can share with me?

We have this and it's played with all the time even though the kids are 6 and 9. I like that it has lower case letters so good for recognition.

Do you have a Tiger store near you? They sell lovely wooden toys at good prices.

At that age my daughter loved getting a photo book of her life so far.

I think I'd make her at an home experience, something like a bakery kit, so lovely personalised apron and chef hat, maybe with her own rolling pin and cooking book but then the rest of the present could be loads of lovely ingredients and decorations that het used up. So it looks quite big and exciting but in the long run doesn't take up too much space.

When my ds was that age he had a bath science kit made up by my mum, test tubes and spoons/bottles etc for mixing with loads of different bubble baths and bath bombs, he thought it was amazing.

Also think a magazine subscription is a great idea.

Love the idea of a magazine subscription, also love the at home baking experience idea but feel I’ve already missed that one as got her a cookery book and apron for Christmas!

She loves puzzles and I’ve already asked relatives to get her one, I’m getting very bored of the 3 that she has.

My boys have had stuff for their rooms for their birthdays at that age and liked it, I got my son a moon lamp and a rainbow light that shines a rainbow on to the wall and some space bedding and lamp shade as he likes space. What about some character bedding she likes? A new toy box? Some science/ experiment sets?

crumble82 · 31/12/2020 20:13

My eldest loves science so we have a couple of science sets already! I have got a nice set of bunting for her and I got her a wobble board earlier so hopefully I’m all set.

Thank you everyone for your ideas
