Never ending amount of gas

Hi all

Our little one is just over 8 weeks old and he seems to have a never ending amount of gas that needs to come out. We can spend literally hours burping him until he's fully comfortable. Usually the only way for him to fall asleep is until he's exhausted. Is this common?

Does anyone have any advice or tips to manage his gas better?

Greatly appreciated.
Wen

It does sound a bit excessive.

Does LO have any of these symptoms?

My DS took nearly 2 hours to burp and by the time we had finished he would have a quick cat nap and then want feeding again. It was exhausting but after the 8 week mark he started to get a lot better. My DS did have colic though so it was rough.
One method I find works very well for wind is air the baby on your lap so they are facing you. Use your fingers to support their head abs neck abs gently roll them right to left (your right to left) making circular movement with their torso. It applies very gentle pressure on their stomach to help release any trapped wind.
Gripe water as well worked a treat for us.

Sit the baby on your lap, facing you*
Apologies for the the typo! 🤦🏻‍♀️

I'd have a look at "The Tiger in the Tree Hold" on YouTube too. That usually helps wind Smile
