Baby acne, eczema or potential cows milk allergy?

I'm at a loss, I feel so sorry for my baby girl. It started showing up at 2 weeks to which the health visitor said it looked like milia/mild baby acne but now it's spread all over her shoulders/chest and side of belly. Her face is plastered with spots that flare up and down. Her head has small pustules all over. Her cheeks are red and the spots seem to have gone flat but the skin is hard now. Any advice? My next health visitor visit is a week away. I breastfeed all day and give her one 4oz. bottle of Aptamil at night.

Looks like baby acne, I know because my baby had it from 3wks old, she’s now 7 weeks and it’s completely cleared up!! Worrying at the time but then it just vanishes

I should say she will be 5 weeks on Sunday

I wouldn't jump to cows milk allergy straight away. My DD had the same and it went after a month or so and she has no issues. My DS who is anaphylactic to cows milk (now 5) didn't start showing with eczema until 6months old. Is she bothered by it? Merry Christmas 🎄

@OnlyFoolsnMothers @flossletsfloss Merry Christmas! Thank you for your replies. I was thinking of baby acne. It just seems so severe. Should I be worried about the pustules on her head? She has blackheads on her cheeks too, only a really small amount. Was there anything used that helped clear it?

Also she doesn't seem bothered by it at all. Just the rough skin and spots spreading was making me question is this normal of the baby acne as well.

Please don't fret! DD had this at exactly the same age, it looked just like that, maybe even worse! It's Baby acne. I agonised over it but it cleared up really quickly, in a few weeks time it should be completely gone. I used cooled boiled water on a cotton pad 3 times a day to clean her skin, then applied zeroderm as prescribed by GP. Think there are similar lotions available off the shelf.

She's 15 months now with perfect skin but occasionally gets eczema outbreaks on her torso, which I use the zeroderm on to control.

I didn’t use anything on it especially, exactly like you though I thought all kinds, allergies, milk spots etc but the dr said acne and it cleared up as she said.
We now have cradle cap to contend with lol!

Merry Xmas OP!

No we didn't use anything on it. We got given a leaflet at the hospital on it and it said it would go on its own and it did. Don't worry.
