I wasn’t really sure where to post this!
I have a 10 year old DD who has no issues and has been fully toilet trained since she was 2.
We go swimming quite a lot as a family and the kids have had lessons for years. My Dd has been becoming more and more reluctant to go swimming and will cry when I suggest it.
She has eventually admitted that when she swims it makes her need a wee and she feels like little dribbles are constantly coming out. She always goes for a wee before getting in the pool. She is very sensible and I’ve explained to her about waiting on the toilet for a few seconds to make sure she has fully emptied her bladder.
Last time we went swimming she went to the loo, got in the pool and then kept having the sensation of needing the loo and having to get out to go. She doesn’t have any issues normally with needing to go to the loo frequently.
It’s either the cold or just all the water that’s making her think she needs it. But she is getting really worried about it. She says she sometimes can’t stop little dribbles coming out. I’ve tried to explain that as she has been to the loo that there really couldn’t be much coming out but I think in her head she has convinced herself she is doing huge wees in the pool which is upsetting her.
Any tips on how to approach this?
