Baby sleepy after immunisations

I have just woken with a start and realised that 8 week old ds (who is usually up every 40 minutes) has slept from 11:30 last night.
Is it normal for them to be this sleepy after their jabs?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Could be a coincidence. At that age mine suddenly started sleeping much longer.

Yes, in my experience. DD slept all day after hers when she had them early in the morning. It's their little immune systems working hard and using up energy.

Mine did this (my first, no idea about my second). Is baby ok ? breathing calmly, cool to touch ? Congratulatiins btw

Mine did this too!

Bubblebox · 18/12/2020 06:48

Ah thank you. DD (4) didn't do this. She hardly slept after.
Yes he's fine @hopefulhalf. I've just woken him up for a feed. No temp.

I feel awful I'm already struggling to get weight onto him inso missing his usual night feeds will not have been helpful. I would have set alarms if I'd expected it

I was told baby may be more sleepy than usual by the nurse and that it’s nothing to worry about. Just check injection site for redness larger than a 50p, temp, floppies etc all the usual. Congratulations xx

Wingingthis · 18/12/2020 06:50

Oh & my DD is 8 months so this was recent advice for the nurse!

Normal, make sure they you keep up the Calpol if they seem too warm.
