Normal baby poo

So my 8 week old is on prescription milk due to cmpa she was on hypoallergenic aptamil pepti 1 but they ran out and now they've given her SMA lactose free formula.. she has 1 poo a week of lucky but today she had a poo explosion this morning greeny/brown and just had another poo the same colour but a lot runnier and A LOT of the 'seedy' looking things.. is this normal? Any advice welcome x

Why on earth did they give you lactose free milk if she is CMPA?? SMA lactose free still contains cows milk protein and just has the lactose removed which is the milk sugar.

@dementedpixie they said they'd ran out of aptamil so give her the SMA LF, I was a bit questioning of it because the aptamil said hypoallergenic but my GP said it'd be fine? I didn't know the SMA still contained that tbh, my first born had no problems at all with formula so I don't really know what to look for in prescription formula

Sound like the GP doesn't know their proteins from their sugars. In the pepti 1 the milk proteins are broken down so they are less likely to cause a reaction. In SMA LF the milk proteins are still present but the lactose (the sugar in the milk) has been broken down so that someone who is lactose intolerant can drink it.

I'd speak to your GP asap

We're at the doctors in the morning for the 8 week check and injections so I'm just gonna mention it then, since being on pepti 1 since 4 weeks old and 4 weeks of screaming at night for upto 6/7 hours with colic plus she's got reflux too.. she's been absolutely brilliant, started sleeping through and been a 'normal' happy smiley baby so I don't want the SMA LF to change that after the struggle we had of realising she's cmpa 😩 so she hasn't really had a break and the best 8 weeks bless her ☹️

Also the SMA is absolute toss.. we stir her milk with a sterilised spoon to reduce the bubbles, plus we use anti colic bottles so also stir it because of them but when we stir the SMA no matter if the water is hot, cooled, warm or anything it creates hard lumps that don't disappear and it gets stuck in the teat 🤦🏼‍♀️ she's also started being sick a lot more again and it's all curdled looking! Just an absolute nightmare to be honest! Xx
