Aptamil Pepti 1 help!

My 4 week old little girl has been prescribed Aptamil Pepti 1 for a cows milk allergy. Her symptoms were a rash, pulling away when feeding, constipation etc. Since starting it yesterday she has fed a lot better, without straining and has eaten well.

However last night she just would not settle. She cried non-stop and needed constant holding. Is this normal? She is fine in herself but have I annoyed her with the change of milk? Is it an adjustment?

Anyone have any experience of this milk and did it help?

My baby has cmpa, and is on pepti 1. It can take a few weeks for any dairy to leave their system. However pepti does still contain dairy it's just hydrolysed. If you don't feel your wee one is settling I'd contact your GP. My dd settled well with it, she was like a different baby after her first feed. She went from screaming 24-7 to having her first giggle!

My DD is on this too and exactly like pp it can take a while to settle. Even after adjusting to the milk my little one had reflux still, so it might be worth considering once you’ve tried the milk long enough. It wasn’t entirely obvious to me but once on Gaviscon she was so much better

Thanks for your help! She seems to be more settled today and so I am giving her chance to get used to the milk and for the other stuff to get out of her system.

Hi OP! My DD got prescribed pepti 1 at 4 weeks old along with infant gaviscon for her reflux.. she turned 8 weeks old on Monday and it's only just kicked in the past week/week and half, I was a bit reluctant at first thinking why is it not working but I gave it time, I know that's hard when they're screaming 24/7😩 trust me, I know that bit well 😖 but it seems to have settled her like a dream and she's now a smiley happy baby and sleeps from half10/11pm till 7am 🥰
