Baby making sucking noises

My DS is 12 weeks old and has started making sucking noises. It's isn't because he's hungry as he pretty much does it all the time.
He's not stressed out he's really happy as he always smiles at me in between making this sucking noises
Any idea what he does this? I'm not concerned just curious as this is a new 'thing' he now does

Mine has been doing this when she is teething

They're just learning how their mouth works. My baby does the same thing. They suddenly become fascinated by their mouth 😊

I thought it was a 'new' thing. He's found his voice too over the last few weeks which is adorable! He's also discovered his hands now! He just grabs his muslin lifts it up and just stares at his hands!
I suppose everything is so fascinating to them isn't it! ❤️

Mine is obsessed with blowing raspberries since she discovered that she can! It's very cute, she does it then looks absolutely delighted with herself

I think he's just discovering sounds he can make. So cute. I remember my youngest when he started noticing his feet. He'd wave them around then suddenly look surprised and stop when he saw them. ❤️
