Need to rant

This may sound silly to make a thread about but I’m so angry I need to rant ☹️

So I’ve been growing my son’s hair out as I have always preferred it a bit longer as it suits him, and as it’s colder now. My family all knew this yet kept on at me about getting his hair cut but I didn’t want to.

I went to work yesterday whilst my dad looked after him, mid way through my work day I get a text from my sister saying she went round my dad’s and cut my son’s hair.

No asking me, nothing. Did it and then told me.

I’m actually so angry. And upset tbh.

My other sister said she knew I should have been asked but ultimately it’s “not what I want that matters”

Thoughts?

I would be very, very cross. But I'm not sure what I would do about it. It sounds as if your sister doesn't care at all what you think, which is pretty odd.

I would be really really angry and probably wouldn't leave him at my parents again or want my sister to see him.

They have completely ignored how you want to parent your child.

Mumofriverandcats1 · 12/12/2020 15:05

I would be furious.

Can I ask, on the back of 'its not what you want that matters ?' What age is your son, and did he express a preference to what he wanted his hair to be like ?

@Neolara @scrivette @Mumofriverandcats1 I’m glad I’m not the only one who’d be angry!!

Honestly, I wouldn't leave him a lone with them again.

I know that's easy to say, but for me the trust has been broken. They have no respect for you or your son.

MamaOl93 · 12/12/2020 15:16

@Mumofriverandcats1 I wish I had that option, but they’re my only source of childcare outside of nursery for me to work ☹️

I too would be furious. Of course it's about what you want he's your son !

MamaOl93 · 12/12/2020 15:44

@3rdNamechange that’s what I thought too! Lol.

What do they mean it's not about what you want?

olderthanyouthink · 12/12/2020 15:48

He not old enough/doesn't care to express an opinion so of course it falls to his parents! How shitty of them

MamaOl93 · 12/12/2020 15:57

@HolyBuckets I really don’t understand it tbh.
