Feel like I’m getting it all wrong!

I’m not sure what to do really!
My dd (3) wouldn’t hold my hand on a busy road so I carried her screaming to the car after asking her several times nicely, threatening that I’d carry her there and there would be no playing on the car before home time as she normally would.

So I carried through with this, took her to the car and tried to put her into her car seat, she climbed out of her car seat into the front and started playing so I stood there and again told her no playing straight home because she didn’t hold my hand and how important it was to do so.

She just kept shouting no at me while I stood there outside the door waiting for her to get in her car seat so I didn’t engage.

She’s normally pretty “good” but the past few weeks especially after nursery it’s just draining hard work and I’m not sure I’m doing it right. I’ve explained to her I know she’s tired but... or tried to offer reward for good behaviour but nothing is working.

Please tell me it’s just a phase? Anyone experienced similar? Am I doing something specifically wrong?

Completely normal and both scenarios resolved how I would/ have done.
Three year olds push boundaries; they get cranky when tired after a day at nursery. Keep doing what you’re doing and she will grow out of it.

God thank you, that has just lifted a massive weight, feel like I don’t know what is normal tbh!
