Hi! I’m 18, I have cousins around that age, I also play a lot of games myself and come across people that age.
You main demographic will be largely boys,
The games that are quite popular are battle royals of course, fortnite still gets a lot of players but it’s popularity has dipped recently, rogue company is still quite popular, warzone, the CODS will always be popular, GTA of course. Rocket league. Some popular campaign games are god of war, fallout, my cousin loves just cause 4.
I think what they like about those games, is the sense of community, for some kids is their way of hanging out with their friends, of course the competitiveness.
Genres vary, FIFA and rocket league are sport, warzone and other battle royals are first person shooters, a lot of campaign games are considered fantasy.
A lot of people like first person shooters and problem solving games. Not so much platform anymore.
I think the problem is, people in that age range, don’t play games intended for their age range, so I’m not sure if you could even really include them in your work unfortunately, the issue with the gaming industry is that it’s quite out of touch with those who place the games.
Sorry for the essay, best of luck!
