Sibling Room sharing advice :)

Hi guys, just looking for abit of advice with siblings sharing a bedroom.

I have a four year old and a 1 year old sharing so obviously the one year old goes to bed first but then when I put the four year old to bed we nearly always end up waking the little one. Is there anything I can do? We are super quiet when trying to get 4 year old in bed but it just seems the slightest noise wakes the 1 year old.

I absolutely dread bed times

Can someone give me a little bit of advice? What has worked for you guys?

I will try anything!

Thanks in advance Smile

Can you get your 4 year old completely ready for bed at the same time as your 1yo? Pjs, story, teeth and get bed ready to get straight in to. Explain what you are trying and why to your 4yo. Then they can stay up a bit later but you should be able to just skip the 4yo into bed and kiss goodnight

Put the 1year old in your bed to fall asleep and then move them when the 4 year old is in bed and asleep?

I like the idea above.
Maybe try to make going to bed without waking baby into a challenge/game. A special moment between the two of you.

We always use white noise if we're going to make a noise when kids are in bed. Going in loft, having a shower etc. Works a treat.

What would happen if you put them both to bed at the same time? That's what I have always done (same age gap, started sharing at 4 and 1). The 4 year old would then wake up earlier rather than going to bed later. Now they are 7 and 4 and still go to bed at the same time, but the 7 year old reads for a while before going to sleep.
