Haven't heard how you're getting on in your course for a while, are you in your second year or third? Are you on placement at the moment?

Just wanted to check in and catch up!

Hi! thanks for asking.

In year two now- love it now that im doing my branch nursing. We have had lots of interesting lectures ie Psychiatric Intensive Care unit and last week had a couple of heavy emotional days where we had 'carers' in to talk about their experiences looking after family members
very moving.

Im on placement for 7 weeks from next monday on a 12 bedded male ward, I spent the day there early this year so im familiar with the set up there. Im a bit aprehensive - but also excited about the challenges there.

So glad that I chose mental health, I made the right decision im sure.

Just hope I can get a bloody job at the end of it all.

Thanks so much for asking

Didn't realise that you were doing mental health, very challenging!!! my dh worked with kids with mental health probs very sad. Youu sound as though you've got your head on your shoulders though so I'm sure that you'll manage it. Don't fret too much about the job sit, the wards need you and they will employ you. Good luck. How's the academic side?

hi- academic side is tough sometimes- I chose a 'red brick' uni and they are shit hot on the academic stuff ( more so than practical sometimes which frustrates me).
I fine it much better now that I am doing more mental health stuff, I found it hard to get my head around anatomy and physiology sometimes ( I found it interesting but hard if that makes sense)

I have got a research assignment to do which looks a bit tough, need to find an interesting topic to research.

Thanks so much for asking after me, its nice to know someone is interested!
