When did your baby give you their first genuine smile? My baby was born 5 weeks early so should I expect it to be later?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

My DS smiled at 5 weeks. I think 6ish weeks is the norm but he was a week late so that tracks for him. So perhaps 6 weeks corrected for your baby?

Dd1 I can't remember
Dd2 around 6 weeks

About 9 weeks. She was a right grump.

Hello my baby was born 5 weeks early too

My baby smiled at 12 weeks.
So yes it was later than full term babies

DisgruntledPelican · 05/12/2020 15:07

6 or 7 weeks as a reflex, and a few weeks later when it was a response to someone grinning a big cheeser at him

MerlotChiantiMontepulicano · 05/12/2020 16:05

4 weeks but he was 2 weeks overdue.
