Cluster feeding newborn

Hi all
Just need some reassurance
My newborn is nearly 2weeks old and every evening she cluster feeds. I don't mean a feed every 10-20 mins I mean constantly for hours. So far this eve she started at 7pm, it's just gone midnight and she's still going. She dozes off while on the boob but if I move her she's wide awake and starts crying so essentially hasn't slept since 7pm
Her nappies are frequent and full so she's definitely eating plenty
Is this "normal" cluster feeding? Everything I've read says feeding every 10-20mins is usually cluster feeding - there is no break in between her feeding . She's not just comforting herself either, she's still guzzling
Her weight gain, unsurprisingly, is good

If anyone can share their experience and/or just tell me to hang in there it does get easier - I'd appreciate it. 😭🤞🏻

Yes this is totally normal ! She is upping your milk supply but it is bloody exhausting. When my little one was 3 weeks old she fed from 4pm to 11pm non stop! I felt physically drained. It does get better though, around 8 weeks the cluster feeding seemed to stop and the feeds got a bit quicker. I just used to set up comfy on the sofa with lots of snacks, water and some good shows to watch on the tv. Sometimes it would just be too much and so I would make my husband take her and walk around for half an hour while I had a stretch and a wee. It doesn't go in forever though. As with anything that's difficult with my kids, I just tell myself this shall soon pass and it usually does. Good luck !

@nameisnotimportant
....8 weeks? 😭

I am going to have to try even harder to sleep when she does through the day, 8 weeks of this is going to break me otherwise.

Wouldn't be so bad if I could get into something on the telly! SadConfused

Yes, do try to sleep when she does.

If it helps I’ve just made DP, who is working tomorrow, take 4 week old baby away so I can get a little sleep. She’s been cluster feeding from 8pm, like yours she falls asleep and then as soon as she’s down she wakes up again.
I’m going to get an hours kip and then relieve him.
