Little things about parenting that make you feel all the feelings

So the world is shit. I want and need positive things in my life. I’m making myself notice the small happy things, beauty in the mundane, joy in the simple.
Join me?

I gave baby DD a bath tonight and used baby shampoo, she smells like DS did as a baby and she just smells how love feels. I can’t stop smelling her little warm head.

DS told me he loved me out of the blue and wanted to hold hands.

DD looks at a black and white print of my hometown and it fills me with joy.

DP popped out for milk and also brought home peanut m&ms.

The washing up is done, put away and the kitchen is clean. Heaven.

DS ran around in the park and had the most beautiful rosy red cheeks. He also went to bed without issue.

None of these things are important in the grand scheme of things but they make me so happy.

They are wonderful little parenting bites OP! Mine from today:
10 month DS pulling himself up on stairs and then turning round pleased as punch, smiling at his achievement.

Snuggled up on sofa reading his board books together.

It's the little wins each day that make it worth it!

My DD said "Mama" for the first time today! Grin

My ds 11 month old ds ignored me when I called his name from the other side of the room yesterday, but looked straight over when I said 'biscuit' 😂

He was babbling 'dadada' last night and when we said 'and mama' (which he does say but usually only when upset!) he smiled and just goes 'blah blah blah' which my dh found hilarious!

DD2 falling asleep instantly on my arm after the bedtime story. She’s warm and heavy and I love to doze beside her for a while, listening to her breathe.

We had a complete parenting communication failure, and DD had baked beans for lunch and dinner, and proceeded to fart all through bathtime. She found it soooooooo funny, was impossible to put to bed on time!

I got an email from 15yo dd's school to say she had done something really kind.
I could have burst. Obviously I am v biased about her, but when other people comment, I am so proud.

My DS laughs every time we walk up the stairs. No idea why but he thinks it’s brilliant. Love it 😍
