My son was born 7lbs 13oz and now at 15 weeks weighs 17lbs which has taken him from 50th percentile to the 91st. Is this normal he formula fed and has around 30 ounces a day, sleeps through the night.

If concerned, contact HV

Hi @Martem my DS is 10 weeks old and is around 12lb (approx) and had around 30 ounces per day.
He was 7lb 12oz born.
HV said he's growing perfectly, he's just bigger than your average baby.
As long as your baby is feeding, seeing, pooping and sleeping and is generally happy I'd say you're ok 👍🏻

My not so wee fella is 15 weeks and was 8lb 11oz at birth and weighed today he is 16lb 4oz and EBF... big boy but perfectly in proportion and following the curve.. Grin

My HV said that they don't really start identifying baby's true centile line until their about 3 months because their birth weight is more an indicator of the quality of the placenta and the room they had to grow. Both of my babies were born small, within aN oz of each other, but evened out onto their own centil lines by 3 months. So absolutely don't worry unless they're dropping loads of lines quickly

My boy was 8lb9 born, now at 16 weeks we did a home weigh yesterday as our clinics are closed and he’s around 18lb. He’s a big lad but he’s in proportion and his dad is 6ft7 so We we’re always going to have a big boy so I’m not worried. Only thing that upsets me is he’s growing like wildfire and now in 6-9 clothing!!

lockdownpregnancy · 01/12/2020 12:10

@ImNotARegularMomImACoolMom I think my DS is going that way too! His dad is big and his siblings, dad, cousins etc are all 6ft 5 plus! 😳
My DS is 10 weeks and is about to go into 3-6 month clothing! 😬
On the plus side, my bingo wings will be gone in no time picking him up and putting him down all the time! HAha! 🤪

Babies tend to settle in after a few months. My son was born on the 30th centile. By 4 months he was on the 91st and has remained on that throughout. He is now 18months.

How tall is he?
