Home Alone?

Been offered a term-time job in a college. 2 hours over lunchtime.
Already I'm ruminating thinking what will happen if my DS is off school. Who will look after him, etc. Can't really ask shielding parents.
Would you leave an 11yo home alone for 2 hours?
What would you do?

Yes I would. Is he secondary school age?

We leave our 11 year old for 2 hours on the weekends when we want to go out and he'd prefer to stay home. We have a no snacks/opening the door rule and have ran through any worries. He can phone us if he needs us. To be honest he's always a bit disappointed when we come back - he likes the time to himself.
Your son will be fine if you think he's mature enough then he probably is.

Starts secondary in September.

It depends completely on the individual child. At 11 two of mine were perfectly happy for a short time on their own, my third was far too anxious about it so he was never left.
As long as he is happy, knows exactly what to do in an emergency etc I think you'll be fine
