Boil on my baby’s left arm

Himalaya2 · 28/11/2020 14:14

My husband noticed a boil on the left arm of my 5 weeks son today while giving him the bath. He doesn’t have any other boil anywhere on his body. Would anyone have idea what it could be?
Thanks a lot in advance

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Did he get the bcg jab?
Whereabouts on the arm?

GrumpyHoonMain · 28/11/2020 14:29

It can happen after the bcg jab. If in doubt ask your hv

@dementedpixie @GrumpyHoonMain Thank you for your reply. It’s in that area where bcg jab was done. He got it when he was one day old. I texted the number given by hv but haven’t got any reply yet, I guess they will reply on Monday only. Is it harmful?

It is a normal reaction to the bcg

Both mine at BCG as newborns. The reaction is normal and shows the vaccine has taken well. Perfectly normal, just keep an eye on it.

Its actually a good sign that the vaccines working. Keep it clean and dry and it should clear up in 4-6 weeks.

Don't panic OP exact same thing happened to us . I thought he had a insect bite but it was his BCG . He's now 5 months and it's still raised and angry looking but I have been told totally normal
