procrastination... how do you get over it?

I've got 4 essays to write, and I'm way behind as DS was taken ill and in hospital all week. Now he's home I thought I could get on with it but nooooooooo..... I'm messing about with crap while I've got articles piled up around which need reading.

a deadline is a sure fire way to get a rocket up my bum. Can you arrange to met another student to talk over how far you have got? Kind of makes you get on with stuff.
