What do you clean out the potty with. Would have thought normal toilet cleaning stuff is too harsh........

flush it, wipe potty and rinse with water...
but hygiene people will no doubt jump down my throat now...

what's wrong with water tho?.. I mean what happened before wipes????? (as there was life before wipes!!!!!)

Tissy · 22/10/2004 20:18

we wipe out the potty with loo paper, then rinse with water, lastly a wipe with more loopaper and a couple of drops of tea tree oil

popsycal · 22/10/2004 20:19

btw, the tea tree, although antiseptic, is more for smell- disguising purposes than anything else! I'm largely with unicorn on this one!

unicorn · 22/10/2004 20:22

if it's solid- it's no problem poppsy!!
it is when it is a slop then it is more of an issue..

but you will find a potty v diff from nappy.. ie the stool is actually solid (nappy squashes it!!)

Lovely !!!!

One of the items in my Bounty bag which I never used - trial size Dettol spray. Now lives in toilet. A little spray, wipe with some toilet paper, and it's clean enough for ds2 (age 1) to play with. And he does. It's nearly his favourite toy.

popsycal · 22/10/2004 20:28

oooh - i think i even have that somewhere!
lol

Id put water in the potty, then tip the contents down the loo and then spray it with dettox and dry with loo roll....with my dd I regretted ever introducing the potty, she managed the loo so well that the potty just became something for her to shout for rather than need. I used the Baby Bjorn trainer seat and its great.

popsycal · 22/10/2004 20:38

lol!
when he was little, he did loads more!!!

OP posts:
ChicPea · 22/10/2004 20:43

I second Pepsi. Exactly what I do.

unicorn · 22/10/2004 20:46

oh yes.. avoid the potty at all costs if you can...

Unfortunately ds likes to 'see' his produce.. up close and personal!!!

so who am I to come between my boy and his special product?!!!
