What to get 9 month old for Xmas

Possibly in wrong place, but couldn't find anywhere better.

What on earth do you buy for a 9 month old for Christmas? Is there even any point?

My eldest is 3 and she has got every single toy under the sun. Family bought her really nice stuff when she was a baby and therefore this has all been passed on to my youngest Daughter.

I feel like she has everything she could ever need. Would it be that bad to just buy her a couple of clothes? Or just to actually not bother?

My first ds got a sit in bus that converted to a ride on.
He preferred the box!!

Cardboard books, little tactile toys he can chew and throw.

You don't need to spend much, just keep him happy with wrapping paper and empty boxes!

Yes just give him a big box! Or a box of tissues which he can take out one by one and leave on the floor.

Wrap up some of your Dd's old things.

If your eldest is in to Santa she might question why her sister didn't get anything so I'd get something.

At that age mine got a Leapfrog picnic basket that was played with until she was about 5!

Nothing/clothes or sticking some money in a bank account in their name are all fine (and exactly what we did)! There is absolutely no point filling your house with more unnecessary stuff when you already have everything you need and doubtless other people will give them even more at Christmas. Whenever I'm at a loss of what to get in these early years, I stick money in their account. They have way more than they need in the way of toys already and will be grateful for this account when they're a bit older.

Same situation here, DC2 would honestly be super happy with wrapping paper!

I got her this activity cube as it’s probably the one type of toy we don’t already have. DH feels bad she’s getting so little bit honestly she doesn’t know and I’m sure she’ll get loads from the rest of the family.

We ended up buying some garden toys for the summer for our 9 month old a few years ago. Although you may already have it all from your eldest.

We also bought seasons tickets to the local zoo, but not sure how much you’d go next year...

I like the idea about just putting some money in to an account. I think I will go with the activity cube idea, put some money in an account and just call it a day. Maybe a bath toy as well!

@IveBeenGood Definitely will be needing some booze to celebrate surviving 😂. I haven't achieved anything other than survival this year!!

How about a couple of books? I'm of the opinion that you can never have too many kids books in the house.

A new outfit? Or just wrap up a couple of things you'd be buying soon anyway like sleepsuits in the next size. It's mostly for the benefit of your eldest so that they can see their younger sibling receiving/opening presents too.

My youngest will be 10.5 months at Christmas and we've got her the above plus a couple of toys labelled as 12-36 months or similar. I'm hoping that both she and her big brother will have some fun with them.
