every bloody day i tel lthm to put their shoes on as its damp and muddy outside now. they come in with socks covered in mud, which i cant shift and its p*sses me off. all the lovely white socks i bought at the beginning of term are now grey on the bottom of them and it looks awful.

they have crocs and wellies they can wear, as well as trainers or school shoes.

why oh why do they do this every day to me?

and soemtimes they remove their socks and shoes to go on the trampoline and leave them out there all bloomin night.

arrrrrrgh.

(maybe this shouod be in AIBU topic instead)

i know its a little thing to be annoyed about, but it just soemthing that really really grates on my nerves.

Hear hear, LVOC. Mine do this too. We have a play house in the garden. When I clear it out (rarely!) it's like bloody M&S hosiery department in there! No good advice (I go for old-fashioned shouting, but it doesn't work), but lots of sympathy.

Oh my goodness! My kids do EXACTLY this! I'm forever telling them not to, but they do it anyway. And they often abandon stuff by the trampoline which is right down the bottom of the garden so I can't see it from the house. AND I have just discovered 2 bowls (with slugs in), 3 beakers and a sodden cuddly toy in ds2's 'den' which is a little area within some bushes which dh has rather indulgently turfed for him. They've probably been there a month!
I feel your angst, am having the same moan most evenings at my house!

Why did the word kids come out underlined and linked to a persil advert?? what's that all about?

blousy apparently there is a thread about it somwehere its new mnhq advertising.

LVoC, I hear you sister!!! It is just so darn annoying!!
I keep my door locked now and they cant go out until I see they have the right footwear on.

ThePhantomToiletFlusher · 18/10/2007 17:32

My boy left his shoes overnight by the trampoline (it had been raining). This was after loads of warnings/threats/shouting through gritted teeth.

I made him wear them out the next day. I do not know if this brutal experiment/punishment has worked yet as he hasn't played outside since (on reflection perhaps he's too traumatised to!).

I will let you know.

maybe i should use persil to wash the socks lol.

i just got loads back to almost white last week, but bet they come out grey now

Watch out for shoes left in the garden! The foxes'll nick 'em. They only ever nick one, however.

This used to happen to me. I told them that all garden soiled socks get hand washed by themselves. Once a week I would check outside and anything left out that shouldn't be would be thrown in the bin. All sorted now funnily enough .
