Co-sleeping

I just wanted some advice, what do people understand about co-sleeping? I was breastfeeding but little one had CMPA and I started losing too much weight cutting dairy out of my diet, that coupled with mastitis meant I decided to formula feed. I spoke to my HV to ask info on co-sleeping for reasons and she mentioned I couldn’t since she was formula fed and to go to the lullaby trust website for more information. I thought this was fair enough and it was really just so I could get more sleep but I’ll cope. Anyway, I went onto their website and can’t see where it says formula fed babies shouldn’t co-sleep. Further to that I found a post on their official Facebook page from last year that says they would never tell a mum who was formula feeding they couldn’t co-sleep Confused. I’m really confused now, has anyone else been told anything different?

Just to be clear, I don’t plan on co-sleeping now. I was toying with the idea but I’ve been told no so I really wouldn’t take the chance regardless, I’m just really curious if anyone has been given different information

There’s no rule that you can’t cosleep if you formula feed. It’s just that breastfeeding is a protective factor which helps make it a bit safer (along with all the other safe cosleeping rules).

Don't let anyone tell you how to parent. My little one is almost 7 months and co sleeping had worked so well for us. It might not work for everyone, but if I listened to people telling me I shouldn't, I would've really missed out

Good advice :) thank you. I was just surprised because she said very firmly that formula fed babies can’t cosleep, not that it was a risk factor!

She's talking rubbish. My FF, semi co sleeping 9mo is asleep next to me right now, and appears to be absolutely fine!

@crazymuseummumtobe Grin thank you, I do think I might attempt it over the weekend when I have time to make the bed space safe
