Hi all,
I have no idea whether I'm positing in the correct place or not, I'm new here but I have a 6 year old little girl who has been a baton twirler since the age of two and is really advanced and doing so well, we're so proud of her. She's a very relaxed and reserved kid but lately I've seen a change in her while she's training in the sport she adores so much, she's quite hard on herself and won't leave a skill unless she's nailed it or very close and it's getting beyond her just being determined. I'm worried she's taking it way too seriously, I used to twirl so i know the pressure but not at 6 years old. How can i encourage her to be resilient and train to get better but in a healthy way.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Chloe

How much of this sport is she doing?

I'd cut back to an hour or so a week and make sure she also does plenty of other different things. Make sure she sees you trying new things and not getting them right first time.
