8 month old making weird faces

My 8 month old DD has recently (last couple of weeks) started to make a weird face. It's almost as if she's ate something she really doesn't like the taste of, except she only makes these faces when she's not eating. Sometimes whilst making this face she also shivers at the same time. It's definitely not because she's cold as it's when we're at home and the house is always nice and warm. Occasionally, it can look like she's ate something sour too. It's a really strange face and it's slightly concerning me as I can't seem to connect it to anything.

Is this normal? Is it just part of her development? She is meeting all other milestones and is in fact quite advanced for an 8 month old so no other worries at all.

I will make an appointment with her GP if I need to but just wanted to see first, if anyone on here had any similar experiences with their LO.

Hoping someone can help me, TIA. Smile

Is she teething?

@Persipan Yes!

Probably that, then! My seven-month-old has been moving his mouth around all the time lately - looking like he's chewing when he isn't, pursing his lips and generally pulling some quite peculiar faces. He got his first tooth a couple of weeks ago and is working on the second, and I'm as sure as I can be that that's what's behind it. And fair enough, really - it must be ever so odd to be minding your own baby business and then suddenly have new bits growing inside your mouth...

@Persipan thank you! It must be that then. I've looked at similar threads from others and they have all concluded it must be teething tooSmile definitely reassured now! Haha, yes I bet it is very strange for them to discover their teethGrin
