2nd born jealous

My biggest worry when I was expecting my second DC was that my first would get upset and be jealous. Well to my relief she wasn't at all in fact she barely paid him an attention at all Grin
Anyway to my surprise DS my second born is now 11 months and is jealous of DD. He goes mad if she sits on my knee. He also got very upset when I held my sisters baby last month before lockdown.

Is this quite common with second born? You just always seem to hear it about the first feeling pushed out. Also any advice on how to tactical this as I really don't want it to develop and I want them to have a good relationship?

Not personal experience, but when i had my DD our friends' little girl (youngest of 2, then about 2yrs old) went absolutely mental when her mum tried to hold the baby. She tried to climb into her lap, screaming "I'm the baby, I'm the baby" and now a year on she still doesnt like DD being around!

Not really helpful in your situation, but hopefully useful to know it's not unusual?

DS is about the same age and doesn’t get possessive when I hold my DNs - but I think that’s because he’s a Lockdown baby and when DNs are round he’s too busy trying to get my sister’s attention lol

I'm feading this. I'm expecting dc2, my 2yr old dd gets very upset if I hold, attempt to feed my 2yr old nephew. He took something off my plate and she actually screamed noo!
