Calpol after 16 week injections

Hello, just wondering does everyone give the 3 doses of calpol after the 16 week injections?

My DD had her injections today and I've only given one (straight after injection). The nurse said if she was ok after her 8 week injections then she doesn't necessarily need to have calpol.

DD has been fine post injections (today, and her other sets) but I'm now wondering if I did the right thing only giving 1 dose as everything online says 3. I've just checked on her and she doesn't seem to have a temperature.

If she got MenB vaccine the 3 doses are recommended

Yes I guess I'm wondering if I've done the right thing not following the recommendation but what the nurse said. Does the risk of fever diminish after 24 hours?

My DD had a temperature after all her vaccine injections so I gave her Calpol to bring the temperature down I didn't give her 3 doses though only gave her some when she had temperature. If your DD doesn't have any temperature I don't think you need 3 doses Smile

Calpol is pain relief and to bring down temps. If your Dd is fine then there’s no need for it Smile

Thanks all! It was one of those things the day caught up with me and I suddenly thought oh crap have I done the right thing. DD is totally fine Smile

Guidelines actually say three doses of calpol four to six hours apart regardless, due to having had the Men B which spikes a temp in around half of babies.

After DD's 8 week vaccinations, I thought 3 doses would be overkill, decided to give her 2 doses and only give the third dose if she needed it. She definitely needed the second dose (she was asleep when it was due but later woke up with a mild fever, so we gave it then). She didn't need the third dose though.
