Just as the title says. Due #2 in December!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

My sister had a tongue tie which was cut in the first few days. I came along 5 years later, no tongue tie.

Cookerhood · 03/11/2020 23:00

No, DC1 had one but not DC2 or 3.

MarcelineMissouri · 03/11/2020 23:00

Yes both mine did, and also my stepdaughter so I think it’s safe to blame dh!!

I had a tongue tie, my younger siblings didn’t.

thesparkthatbled · 03/11/2020 23:03

No, DC1 did, but not DC2

MrsMigginsPie · 03/11/2020 23:03

No, first DC did. Second didn’t!

SparklyOwl · 03/11/2020 23:05

No, but DC4 did. DC1’s wasn’t cut and was slow to talk. DC2 didn’t have one and was a very early talker.

r0ck · 03/11/2020 23:09

My first son did but not my second!

GrottyCot · 03/11/2020 23:12

Yes all three of mine did.

Bubbletrouble43 · 03/11/2020 23:14

( fraternal) twins, both tt. Two good friends, both had 2 dcs, all with tt.

candle18 · 03/11/2020 23:14

Middle child did, other two didn’t

Immaback · 03/11/2020 23:15

Yes both 1st and 2nd did !

sherryshelidan · 03/11/2020 23:34

Yes but not as restrictive

tumtitum · 03/11/2020 23:43

Yes! But knew the signs so had it snipped as soon as possible and things got better much quicker than they did with my first x

Nobodyknowsme101 · 04/11/2020 09:34

@MarcelineMissouri is it hereditary?
My first didn't, but my second with a different DP did and DP also has one :)

kezziethecat · 04/11/2020 09:36

Yes although a lot less severe and didn't even need cutting. Ds had one so bad they took photos to use in training!

SleepingStandingUp · 04/11/2020 09:37

Nope. DS had a really pronounced one, twins have none

NameChange30 · 04/11/2020 09:40

No.
DC1, boy, had posterior tongue tie which was diagnosed at 2 weeks and divided a few days later.
DC2, girl, had a poor latch and I got her assessed for tongue tie straight away but she didn't have it (well, normal frenulum with a tiny bit of tension but didn't affect tongue function).

Apparently tongue tie is more common in boys for some reason.

They both had CMPA and reflux though - I was so hoping DC2 wouldn't! 😭

Emelene · 04/11/2020 09:41

I was wondering this - my first had quite a bad PTT (not picked up/cut till 9 weeks) and I'm due my second any day!

FlaviaAlbiaWantsLangClegBack · 04/11/2020 09:42

Yes, but not as bad. I put it on my birth plan to be checked when he was born and the midwife spotted it straight away so the whole process was so much easier.

Perching · 04/11/2020 09:43

All three mine did, middle one not as bad as eldest and youngest. I had one too.

Lou573 · 04/11/2020 09:48

Yes, both kids the same type. Pretty sure dh has it as well but it wasn’t picked up in those days.

cheesecake864 · 04/11/2020 09:49

Yes but I recognised it and it was cut much sooner

pearljamming · 04/11/2020 10:41

Same as @cheesecake864

KiriAndLou · 04/11/2020 10:46

I've read it might be to do with regular folic acid consumption.
