Cot bumpers

If I put my dd to sleep in the 'foot to foot' position, she wriggles around until her head is against the cot side, preferably in a corner. Then an arm falls out between the bars and gets trapped, or she hits her head, and wakes ...

So I got a cot bumper, and now she mashes her head against that. It is the thinnest I can find (I can see through it!) but i worry nonetheless about overheating. She is in a Grobag, so can't pull a blanket over her head, but does like her Kaloo toy (v soft and fluffy) against her cheek.

She simply won't sleep without these props, but i worry about SIDS. I have switched off her radiator though, and she sleeps on her back on a firm mattress. No smokers in the family at all.

Would you leave things be?

this is what the sids website says about cot bumpers:

Can I use a cot bumper for my baby?

In the past, there were concerns that bumpers might make babies too hot, increasing the risk of cot death. However, recent research has shown that they have neither good nor bad effects. Take it out when your baby can get up on hands and knees so they can?t climb out.
