Slings/carriers

My little man has a sling (stretchy wrap) and a carrier (Bjorn) and ge screams when he is in either of them. DH and I have watched all the videos, sent pictures to others and we’re sure we’ve got it right, but he hates them. I really want to use both so I can walk the dog easier and do household chores, but what’s DS’s beef? I wondered if it was his legs, he’s quite a gassy little pork chop and likes to pull his legs up, could it be that?

Anyone got any advice on how to help him get on with them? I’ve tried just keeping walking with him in there hoping he will chill, but his teeny head turned into an angry beetroot, so I had to sit in the van whilst DH and the dog enjoyed their walk in the beach...(not DHs fault, dog needed her exercise and why should she miss out!)

How old is he? Stretchy wraps are really only suitable for the first few months. Baby Bjorn, at least the standard non-ergonomic ones, are really not suitable at all. If he’s in properly his legs should be generally pulled up, so it should be comfortable. Sometimes it just a matter of trial and error and getting used to it. Is he warm enough with something around his legs? That can make a difference too.

He’s only a month old. The Bjorn says it’s suitable from newborn age? We seem to be getting the M shape that both carriers recommend...I guess maybe it’s just practice but it’s hard when it looks right but he’s so unhappy to know what’s what!

Are you putting him in it when hes calm? A big problem I found was that I was trying to get my son in a sling he was already agitated and it just seemed to annoy him even more. If I did it when he was more content it was better. I had a stretchy sling too.
