Baby's white part of eye seemed swelled . Feeling panicky

My nine month baby had pink eye , I suspect conjuctivits since two/three days now . and while I called his paediatrician yesterday, she said to try eye drop for around five days , and if still persists visit child opthalmologist for it .
However its sunday night and seemingly my babies white part of eye still pink seems to have kind of grown upwards a bit like swelling . I see this because of the slight height change at border of cornea , like how do I explain it !

Now I am just feeling scared thinking why my babies pink eye didn't respond to anti bacterial eye drops and if my baby could have a serious complication from this.
I am taking him to pediatric opthalmologist as soon as possible , but its 8 pm sunday here and the doc will come at 2 pm tomorrow :/

Can you take them to A&E?

MellowMelly · 01/11/2020 15:18

She might need an antihistamine. Is she rubbing the eye?

Not sure OP is in Uk from specific reference to paediatrician etc

And you've only had the drops for a day or two. It really does take the full 5 days (or a little longer) to zap conjunctivitis

@MellowMelly its a baby boy. Yes he seems fussy since today evening. Don't know why :/ I wonder if its due to eye problem and yes , he seems to be rubbing his eyes also. And its become pink and little swelled conjuctiva (white part of eye) also

My main concern is it shouldn't hurt my baby's vision . that would be horrible

Don't let him rub his eye and the swelling should go down in a couple of hours. Keep going with the drops as prescribed.

I get a swelling on the white part of my eye sometimes when I rub them. It looks quite alarming but always goes down quickly.

@sarahhoping sorry, I was literally walking and writing to you. Anyway yes you need to stop him rubbing it like @MrsBobDylan said.

OP here. I took my baby to opthalmologist shortly after. She said it's nothing serious and it's just allergic conjuctivitis.
She prescribed a 5 day course and he's ok now.
